Hi fellow classmates of The Digital Past 390!

Hi everyone,

I am a first year (sophomore) student at George Mason University where I am majoring in Communications with a concentration in Political and Persuasive Communications and a double minor in Political Philosophy and Electronic Journalism. I am a hard-working, passionate, and enthusiastic individual who in her spare time when not networking, enjoys to use working out every day as an outlet for my type-A behavior. At GMU, I am a Senator in Student Government and serve on two different committees: University Relations and University Life. Also, I am the Lead News Anchor on the new Mason Cable News Show on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.: tune in! On campus, I live in the Leadership and Community Engagement Program Living Learning Community. Leadership and community service are two passions of mine. My political journey started this past summer when I had the advantageous opportunity of interning for the former Governor of Virginia and recently elected United States Senator Tim Kaine’s Campaign in the main headquarters in Richmond. From 2009-2011, I served three different local titles in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen-Miss Virginia’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Organization (the teen devision of the Miss America-Miss Virginia Scholarship Pageants). For the past seven years, I have personally raised thousands of dollars and advocated for Diabetes Awareness. Ultimately, my career goals consist of political broadcasting, lobbying, or even running for office one day. I look forward to meeting everyone via blog posts and more in person during class.

Cheers to a great semester!
