Validity: The Digital Archives (Part 3)

Jane Brown’s senior research project was quite intriguing, and the fact her topic was about a quirky Virginian experience was even more interesting. I could tell from reading her blog she had researched her topic prior to interviewing sources and traveling to places to gain firsthand knowledge about the assignment. It appeared to me that Jane used her prior knowledge about the topic to make the judicial responses about her sources in determining fact from fiction. From her beginning research, she then narrowed down her research further to the blog “Panic of 1873” where Brown found more historical context to help add meaning to the topic as as result of the angle she took when her beginning research lead her to another outlet.
